Something New

Friends, I need some help! Amazing and wonderful things happening in my life ... Transformation, newness, freedom, rejoicing. And it continues.

I am looking to change my outside to match all that God is doing in me. Also, being back in the United States, I think I can use an updated look (no more missionary mommy).

Here are a few pics that highlight my hair fashion statements over the past few years (and keep in mind that I was a missionary :) Something easy, something simple, something me.

The current me :)

Pineapple Princess (the truth be know this is how I wore it most of the time)

Short and Sassy

Fun & Spunky!

Would you share your advice, any suggestions, which style do you think looks best? What should I do now, or should I leave it just the way it is. Ooh, I can hardly wait. This is going to be fun.

75 degrees!! Nice!

I do like your hair, just the way it is now. You could even go for some sassy bangs?!! ; ) You are beautiful!

Glad you are enjoying being back in the US

I love the way your hair looks right now! The length is perfect! And I can totally see how it was important to keep things as simple as possible on the mission field. I agree that layers and bangs are fun right now, though, and they would look great on you : )

You're so cute, Sarah Dawn!! I actually do like the length of your hair on you in the first photo. If you don't mind a little more styling time, maybe adding some new layers would be fun...afterall, I do think you are one "fun and spunky" gal!! ;)

Blessings and Hugs,
~ Tanya

Be sure to share your after photos with us if you do go for a change! I wish I were a little more brave... I could sure use a new look, too!

OOXX,

Hmmmm, I'm thinking of you usually throw your hair up in a pony tail, you might not want a style that requires a whole lot of maintenace.

How about getting some layers and long fringe - wet hair in the morning, add product to bring out that naural wave you have - scrunch it and leave it to dry naturally???? I think that will look fabulous. Striaght blow dryed hair is so last decade. Ha ha.

I will be post your poem on my blog (along with your pretty picture.) xo

Girl! you are a classic beauty just like you are. Your present do suits you. But I know sometimes we just want something different ... been there, done that myself. SO, and I'm not trying to be super-spiritual here, I'm just saying what works - ABBA is a fantastic hair stylist - ask Him to lead you to the style that suits what He is doing on the inside of You and to just let you know that you know that you know when you see the style -- even if it's in the mirror this morning. Love you Sarah Dawn. Holy Hugs, Kathie

Morning Sarah Dawn,
The short and sassy was really cute, but honestly I think it looks the lovliest the way it is now, and the
nice thing is, you can twist it up to get it out of your way if you need too, so you have the best of both worlds.
You are such a pretty girl, that you could probably do just about anything with it and have it look good. I am so happy that you are so full of joy and that God has been doing some miracles in your life. Freedom in Christ is an awesome thing!!
Have a wonderful day sweetie,
and don't cut that hair!! lol
I is just too pretty.
Blessings, Nellie

i love long hair! i think bangs would be an awesome update--very modern, not a lot of investment. otherwise, i vote for a super short spunky pixie cut.

you're beautiful no matter what!

I like the current look best!

oh wow, i'm so not good at this - I am in a pony tail everyday! I also want to do something different. But I think judging on the way you are feeling you are wanting something different... so just go for it! do something crazy. What I've done before when feeling that way - is go to a nice hair cutting place with a really good stylist and let her do whatever she wants. Another thing I've done is volunteer to be a "model" for stylists in training and let them practice on my hair. I've ended up with some great styles i would never have picked myself that way! it's adventurous and fun!!! :) Another thing I've done, which I actually dont' recommend, is let friends cut my hair - last time I did that after about 5 different people had a hand at it I ended up with hair 1 inch long all over. it was still fun, though. can't wait to see what you decide!!!

Well... Since you asked...

Remember what God's word says about outward adornment and outward appearance? It's not what's on the outside it's what's on the inside. Because... when you have everything on the inside in alignment with God it will show on the outside. I agree with some of the gals who said you look great just as you are. Clean and easy to care for is all that matters. Making a fashion statement doesn't matter. LOL I've never went along with the fad fashion of the moment. I get a lot of funny looks from those who do. I don't care what they think... I'm concerned with what my Father thinks. He's the ultimate judge!

Have fun!

I love your hair long.....but you are always beautiful no matter how you wear it =) I love your bun thingy too, by the way! Really =)

I agree with many of your posters when they suggested layers. You can wear it down if you are going out and about and want to feel "prettier" and when you are just running around the house you can throw it into a bun, ponytail or big barrette to get your hair out of the way.

Um.....I really would LOVE to chat.....and thanks for your comment the other day.....it's good to know that you are still there somewhere.....miss our emails, for sure =)

<3 and hugs

I like your long hair too. :) But, before
I got my hair cut a couple of years ago, I had a TON of fun playing around with this website. Actually, it was so much fun my sister and Mom tried it out too. I think it's still free http://makeover.dailymakeover.com/virtual-makeover/#/home

Sarah Dawn,

I am so glad you came by my book blog! You are so sweet to ask me about your hair!

Honestly, the length you have right now is PERFECT and I looked at the picture that Allie Garcia suggested and that is exactly what I was thinking....
Add some layers along with some fun swoopy bangs!! You can have fun with it and feel sexy yet you can still be able to pull it up and wear it in a pony if needed! You could also scrunch it if you have any curl or just use a curling iron and do a very relaxed curl... There are many different ways to wear that style!
You are a beautiful woman and with all that God is doing in you I am so happy to know you are having fun and feeling Spunky again! I can't wait to see what you decide! Let me know :O)

My Official Hair Theory is this:

It will grow back.

That said? Head to an awesome snipper and tell her to have fun. Also, please know I have had fabulous results with this strategy. New hair cuts are refreshing, so enjoy!

I miss you sarah..we need to talk on the phone soon when I am back from holland. Love the hair the way you have it now...agree with the rest, maybe some layers...I just need to decide myself to let it grow some...which will probably never happen..

the missionfield and young kids I guess!! :)

I like it just the way it is! With your long narrow face (which is good) the shorter hair just doesn't "fit" you as well.

Dear Sarah, If you want to try in new things before actually doing it. I suggest you this fun site where you can play with your own picture and give it a new look:http://www.taaz.com/ Have fun!!!!

I think your hair looks great on you! I have the same problems though. I get bored with my hair...one day it's long, the next I cut it all off. One day I wear the curly, the next I straighten it with a flat iron. I'd like to do highlights again...have you tried that?
