Shards of Broken
It's easy to believe when life glistens streaming brilliantly through the perfect window pane. When the window pane smashes into thousands of shards and you stand in the midst of broken. Will you still believe? No. Matter. What.
Scooping up pieces of broken. Feebly trying to put the pieces back together. Slivered glass makes your fingers bleed. When the situation completely shattered mocks you as you stand. Will you still believe? No. Matter. What.
I whisper this to myself today as I kneel in the midst of broken. Broken beyond what I could ever comprehend. There is nothing I can do. Nothing in my own strength. When all you can cry out "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you" (2 Chron 20:12) Will you still believe? No. Matter. What.
Standing in the midst of broken. Keeping your eyes on Him. Setting down the broken shards and lifting your hands in praise. Believing He is good. No. Matter. What.
My God, He's not in the window life smashing business. And when you stand in the midst of the broken, He stands with you. When you scoop up the glass shards and bleed because you try to put all the pieces back together on your own, He heals you. When you have nothing left and the tears run dry, He strengthens you. When you have no idea where to step, He leads you. When you simply crumple, He holds you.
The thief comes to steal, kill, destroy, and shatter. Jesus came to give us life, beautiful amazing, beyond what we could ever ask or imagine life. Even in the midst of this broken. I will believe. My God is good. No. Matter. What.

Battling On Our Knees

Teach me the power of prayer, of invading the realm of heaven, taking my role beside you and joining the chorus of intercession as you sit, Son of God, and intercede.
To catch a glimpse of your heart, to empower my prayers with the fire of heaven burning with intense passion. To truly comprehend the power of my utterances, linking with your dreams for the children you created. To call into existence and partner with your heart's cry.
Take my intercession to the next level, my breath mingling with your sweat and blood shed for the nations. The nice neat box where I deposit my prayers, splinter it by your grace and power.
Usher me into the battle today Lord, in the most humbling and powerful place, on my knees.
Friends, today I invite you to war with me. To use this blog as a weapon of warfare in the hands of our Lord, dipped in the syllables of our prayers.
In the comments to this post, leave me something to battle with you, a prayer request.
And dust off your knees with me, read the requests and mount an arsenal of prayers together, as we battle side by side.

MIghty to Save, Heal, Deliver, Restore, Renew ....

"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17
A beautiful birthday gift wrapped in God's faithfulness. A trip camping, a dream soon to be realized. The night before a stumbling block set before us.
A seven year old son with a soaring fever, and yes, exposed to H1N1. The power of prayer ... the power of our Lord. Tucked him in bed, trusting in Jesus and nothing else.
In the wee hours, I took the bow of my birthday package. 98.6 No symptoms. Complete healing.
Friends, even H1N1 must bow at the foot of the cross.
A frenzy to pack and get ready to leave in a few short hours. Never realized how much gear you can pack in a walmart plastic bag :) In God's perfect timing, we left and continued to unwrap my birthday present.
Three days, two nights, soaking in God's creation. Crackling fires, gooey smores, Worship with guitar, games with sticks and shovels, sweet fellowship with new friends.
Friends, our God is mighty to save. He is mighty for every need in our life. He heals. He restores. He gives us perfect presents wrapped in His love. What gift do you need today?
It is a delight to intercede for you today. Leave me a prayer request and I will pray. And leave all of us a gift of encouragement, with a comment of how God has been mighty in your life!
