Weathered Beauty

Her eyes captured me. They tell a story of a life. High in the rainforest village of Panama, this Ngobe woman shares a glance of weathered beauty. Its as if the lines weave together her tapestry of what she has seen, the wisdom she has gleaned, the life she has lived.

Saturday posts, simply taking a moment to revisit photos taken from my side of the lens. Reflecting back on memories, medical outreaches to impoverished indigenous villages with rain beating down. An elderly woman reaching out for treatment, her photo reaches me.

Someday, I hope that my portrait captures weathered beauty and tells a story. A story chalk full of love, passion, living boldly, and maybe even a few gray hairs.

Believe me sweetie, every line on your beautiful face can, and will tell the story of Jesus's love. Blessings to you always.

I always hope that I will look like my Grandmother. Her face reminds me of so many good and wise things.

There is so much beauty here Sara. I am rapidly working my way to such a face and begin to be thankful for every line and wrinkle the Lord etches.

Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life. Proverbs 16:31

I think wrinkles probably count too!

Beautiful...and my hearts cry is the same as yours...to show Jesus!
I recently posted a tongue and cheek, silly post on aging at 49, but the truth is I hope I reflect inner beauty more than outward beauty....your testimony already does that and makes your portrait beautiful!
