Full of Figs

"Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on itexcept leaves."
- Matthew 21: 18-19

This verse grabbed me, soaking in His Word. A familiar passage. A new message.

In this city, our mission field. So many hungry. Scurrying from busyness to overwhelmed.

I soak in my Lord and my life emits a verdant freshness.

They will come. They are.

Hungry they search for fruit. Life giving.

When they step closer, hungry hearts, open hearts, discovering what?

Pretty green leaves don't satisfy. Only His fruit in my life satiates an eternity hunger.

My heart's prayer today, to be a tree full of figs. That this city may taste and see that my Lord is good.

A life full of figs .... my prayer today.

Would you bless me with the honor of praying for you today? What prayer tugs at your heart and beckons to be shared? Leave a comment, this is our battling on our knees day. I will pray and others who come will join me as we raise a chorus of intercession in His name.

Joining you in prayer!

Please pray over my in-laws who are both dealing with some serious health challenges.

Please pray over Lexi's jump-a-thon next week - that others hear His voice and come to jump with her to raise money for the least of these!

Love You and praying your birthday camping trip was a huge success.

Thank you for this intercessory gathering as I stand in agreement with you and other precious friends. Please pray for my son's physical healing, for his dizziness to leave and for his strength to return to normal. God bless. I love figs and I have 2 trees in the yard. This post will remind me to be like those fruit-filled figs. By His grace.

Please pray for me as Satan bombards me with arrows of fear and vulnerability and seeks to root up all the seeds I have ever planted by making me want to close down my blog ministry and disappear into virtual oblivion. I don't feel safe. I feel exposed and attacked, and for what I am not even sure... but as page after page of my archives gets scrutinized by a judgemental eye, my heart is filled with steady trepidation and anxiety. Even though I have never said anything I am ashamed of, anything that wasn't true, beautiful, pure and peace loving (not that I've never been guilty of that, but I have been intensely protective of having certain posting perameters in place).

I just need to feel that God is my advocate, and that He will protect me from the flaming arrows of the enemy, because right now I feel mighty beaten.

I will join you in praying for everyone who leaves a request. And add my daughters to the list. I pray they know God's heart for their lives.

Thank you for your prayers. They are much needed today. My problems pale in comparison to so many others. I am still having respiratory issues. One step forward...three steps back. New medications and still struggling.

I pray for you, sweet girl, that the Lord will fill you full to overflowing with the fruit of His Spirit - and that He will use you to bless those He sends into your life in a very powerful way.
Please pray for my Dad. He is in a rehab facility trying to get his strength back after a fall and a stay in the hospital. He is 89 years old and in very fragile health. Please pray for my Mom as she tenderly ministers to him.
Thank you Sarah. You bless in so many ways. This place has the sweet fragrance of His presence through your words.

For the past few days I've been having an uncomfortable feeling in my jaw. Stress no doubt, but I'm upset because I should not be stressing at all. God is in control and I need to get out of his way.

Please pray for me to have relief of this uncomfortableness.

Praying with and for you today. Thank you for sharing your words.

Please pray for decisions about employment. As well as a desire in my heart that is surging in me. The desire is almost overwhelming, yet next to impossible. With God nothing is impossible... may I be content in His will.

Dear Sarah Dawn~ I know I've told you this before, but I still thank God for bringing you into my life... you have been such a blessing in more ways than you know and I truly consider you a dear friend!

I have joined with you today in praying for the request of all of those listed before me and I would love to hear them share praise and victory reports in future posts/comments. God's Word is stronger than any two-edged sword, and His Word will NOT return unto them void, even they only agree with all of us together in faith, that these needs will be met, bodies healed, finances replenished, paths clearly lit for direction, anxietys gone and joy everlasting through the salvation known to them as heirs in Christ Jesus! God has heard their cries and our prayers have gone up... may all of these needs be met, in the name of Christ Jesus we pray, Amen!

Please lift up our adoption process. We currently have some documents that are MIA (missing in action) and we need to have them asap, so that we can get things to where they need to be ontime. Pray that God grants us the desires of our heart and grants us our travels soon, so that we can bring our daughter home.

Thank you for giving so much of yourself to help others. You are a refreshing blessing to SO many, and your 'devotions' always speak deeply to my heart.

Blessings and Hugs,
~Tanya

Pray for our small Christian school to bring in more children and be able to pay the employees. We are struggling hard in this current recession and I'm starting to get nervous. I truly believe this school is God's school and he can do what he will with it. Please also pray that the staff is receptive to any changes that the Lord may bring about.

If you'd like, pray for energy, strength and wisdom for my husband and I this week as we are at a crossroads in our life.

Thank you for offering to pray. I shall also pray for you to be full of figs. I love this picture by the way.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers for my Aunt Edna. We had such a good time visiting her. :-)

I know I'm late coming to this post, but...your prayers for my husband's job security would be most appreciated.

What can I pray about for YOU?

Blessings,
Beth

Pray for the restoration of my marriage. Beloved chose divorce two years ago. With human eyes, all is lost and hopeless but with God all things are possible. Satan has deceived beloved into thinking this is God's desire and our covenant was broken. God says different in His Word. Beloved is a Christian but that doesn't remove him from satan's lies and hold on his heart deceiving him.

Pray also for the salvation of my brother.

You write deliciously Sarah Dawn...and I love the verse you chose to focus on this week. When Christ brushes past me I pray He can reach out and find figs growing abundantly...but oh how I ache for those years when I was nothing more than a show of leaves....soaking in His blessings with no fruit to show for it!
