Dig Them Up!

God entrusts His children with priceless treasure. He lovingly deposits each bit of glistening gold in our lives. As the gold glitters and shines, the treasure reflects His glory. We've been given a gift and yet so many times we bury it, in fear, in worry, in unbelief, in circumstances.

This heavenly treasure, the talents and giftings God has uniquely designed and placed in us.

I am in the process of digging, asking the Lord to uncover the talents I have buried. He desires all of our giftings to be used for His glory. To sparkle and shine in a dark world.

Every gift, yes every gift. A fellow YWAM missionary worked in a bakery for years. He uses his talent to bake fresh bread to share with the homeless at night. Can you see the glimmer?

A full time homeschooling mom of 8 uses her creative skills to design blogs for a donation to an adoption fund to bring more children home. She sparkles for her King.

As a missionary mommy, a talent for ministry in my home is emerging. We're bringing home 2 little ones from Ethiopia to reflect His grace.

I wonder, how many talents still lie buried in my heart. It's time to start diggin! This blog is a shovel in my life, digging up a love of writing that I buried in insecurities.

Dear friends, this world needs your precious treasure. Share all of your talents, invest them in His kingdom and earn eternal dividends. And don't worry if you have some digging to do. Getting a little dirty is worth it for His glory!

Your heart is reflected in yoru beautiful posts.

As children of the Father we own nothing...we gave all to Him. Our talents and our treasures must be given to the benefit of the kingdom.

NO matter how long I walk with God, I need to hear this message over and over...I will dig this week too!

Woohoo, I can hardly wait to see what gold you dig up--I'm sure there are many talents buried there. You are a beautiful writer--so glad you are blessing all of us with a gift the Father has given you.
Me? Mmmm, I don't even know what is buried so deep within me anymore. Thank you for a wonderful reminder to start seeking God on what they are.

Today I was reading Acts 6. Stephen is my favorite bible character...I found myself weeping as I read the few small words that scripture shares in the legacy of his life (and the mark he made for the Kingdom).

He was full of the Spirit, he was wise, he was full of Grace and faith and Power...he was one of the first deacons, he spoke the truth in love, he had love for others, he died for who he believed in...

I wept as I thought of Stephen.

My life cry at this moment, is for God to fill me with more grace; that I could be a better tool in His toolbox. Oh, how I love Stephen. And how I covet that wisdom and grace that flowed like a River out of him.

Yes, I am ready to dig in and uncover hidden talents. I have so many that I don't have...God show us the ones that we do have.

bless you;
Kimmie

Sarah Dawn--oh my, you just continue to amaze me and Jesus is so happy with you! The more talents you uncover the more He will give you. Keep encouraging yourself and others with your writings. (As a child you did like to play in the dirt, but you were not messy with it, just very organized!!) Love you, Mom

Beautiful, beautiful post today! I love the analogy you used between digging for treasures and the gifts God has bestowed upon each of us. Too often I believe, we are trying to find the big ones, the boulders of gold, when all we need is a few choice nuggets. I am glad I found you through this blog.

I love this Sarah....especially your line on "This blog is a shovel in my life, digging up a love of writing that I buried in insecurities."

I too have this writing thing that insecurities have kept me from stepping out. I have an assignment to write a children's story and finally last night, was brave enough to write the first chapter.

Beth's blog that touches on writing urged me on, perhaps you would enjoy it too:http://livingproofministries.blogspot.com/2009/06/just-got-home-and-saying-hi.html

(The part about writing I think is the second or third paragraph.)

Blessings.......

This is so amazing, and totally fits with this vision I had not to long ago. I saw God bring a white towel toward my head, he took my crown in his hand, while it still hovered over my head, and shined a green diamond shapped jewel. What you shared reminded me of, and added to that word, thank you

Oh my goodness! Awesome things happening here. I'm glad you found me because I love to follow missionaries. I became a Christian in the Philippines because of American missionaries. I was baptized there too.

I love your son's testimony & video. Your kids are precious gems of the Lord. Good job mom & dad. Anxious to read about the adoption. I know things can go rather slow at times with those & frustrating things happen so I'm praying for you all to have the peace that passes all understanding. God bless you & sorry that your gramma died, but so glad you were there and had such a positive experience. I'm sure she was a grand lady. Glad she's in heaven.

I'm following you cuz I'm excited to see how the Lord will be working in you.
More later.
Nannette.
