Run Momma Run.

Tis time ... When you really want something, dream it, eat it , live it, you train for it. Only the ones that train with dripping sweat and a determined stride ever really grab the prize.

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way to get the prize."
- 1 Corinthians 9:24

Tis time ... This momma is lacing on her running shoes. Going into training, for a real prize, the hearts of my children. Entering into training, to be the best, the best mom imaginable for my kidz (all 5 of them). Going after a real prize.

Tis time ... A house full of first time obedience with happy hearts. Love lived out loud oozing from every crack & crevice.  Joy splattered everywhere.  Grace wildly sloshed.

Tis time ... For this momma to realize, this is my race.  The roll of mom, worth every bit of training and sweat.  To go after it with absurd abandon.   Focus.  Determination.  Passion.

"All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally. I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got." - 1 Corinthians 9:25-26 Message

Tis time ... I can hear the crowds (well at least my lil crowd of 5, soon to be 6) chanting now ... Run Momma Run.

Wanna lace up with me?   Would love to have you join in this glorious race of mom.  What books, resources, bits of encouragement keep you running strong?  Would you share & leave a comment.  We can cheer each other on.

And as always, I would be crazy honored to have you link up with momma notes.  I jot some on Mondays, but you can link up any day of the week (I get the momma, filled to to the brim, schedules)   Just mom.  Sharing our notes.  Creating a melody.

{Melinda} One of my favorite mama books is "A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George. It's an oldie, but a goodie. I highly recommend. :)

I started working with a personal trainer after 3 years of putting all that on the back burner - it's a new season - the getting into shape physicall - and it is constance maintenance to stay there physically - we mama's we can't give up the race:) Have an awesome 4th:)

It's so wonderful to know that this race we're running is not in vain and leads to a glorious prize! Thanks for hosting today.

You've been training for a race? Well, I may not be there in person, but I'm cheering you on from here in my chair, Sarah! You go, girl! Thanks also for weaving this scriptural metaphor in--to inspire us all to get out our "running shoes." :) Hey, I guess that means we can "run together" after all! Great words and thanks for hosting, my friend.

Great post! Some inspiring books that I love are Cold Tangerines, anything by Mark Buchanan, Mended by Angie Smith. Thanks too for hosting the link-up.
Blessings,

I agree with Denise- love the way you run! And as far as the guest post- ANYTHING that captures who you are and what makes your heart beat quicker :) Would love a peek into your passions. Don't feel like you have to write something new- so much here I love- just pick a favorite. I'm savoring some vacation time this week with my clan in Colorado- feel free to send the post my way whenever it works. No hurry. Blessings as you grow that beautiful family again in such a special way.

You had me at "A house full of first time obedience with happy hearts." I had to read that line twice. My first thought was how nice it would be if my kiddos did this. Then, I was convicted of the same. I'm in. Lacing my shoes with you!! Visiting from MM and loved your post!

Hi Sarah! I was wondering if you could give me a few book suggestions about mothering boys. I remember that when you were in Heredia you had quite a nice selection, but would LOVE to know your top picks!

Hi Sarah, Just visiting from Heart for home-making. I love this post. My children are all grown up now, but I'm always seriously training to be a wonderful wife and helpmeet to my amazing husband!
