Ransomed Heart

- Psalm 63:3

Breaking my heart before Him. He comes.

Asking, He burns His name on my heart with jealous fire.

A new level of intimacy.
Radical abandonment to only Him.
He is taking my breath away.

Captivating my heart, my mind, my all. As it should be.

Smashing idols in my life, too long standing in His rightful place.
Breaking chains of contentment, setting this captive free.

Words fail me.

God, simply overwhelming me with a fresh baptism of His love.

I must go, the lover of my soul is calling me.
Listen, quiet your heart and listen. He is calling your name as well.

The words in your post touch me deeply and the song "Relent" by Misty Edwards pierces me every time I hear it. I have not arrived yet...not even close...but I am on a journey! Blessings!

I will never forget the moment in my life when I could say aloud and appreciate: If all I have is Jesus, it is enough. He is enough.

Oh the miles I had to travel to get there.

Oh Sarah Dawn - your words are the mirror of my heart! We were just talking about this last night - our choices to lay everything down for Him. To allow Him to have every area of our life with reckless abandon!

Running with you into the lover of our souls arms. Trusting my entire life to Him - every detail and knowing there I am safe! For He is good all of the time! For He is faithful! He loves us all! From the beginning of time for all of eternity HE LOVES US!

Love you,

Hi Sarah Dawn,
What a lovely poem and sentiment.
Oh so true! The work the Lord does in our hearts is such an amazing and exciting thing!
His grace is so Truly Amazing and
So glad you had a nice birthday dear and how exciting that the Lord brought healing to your lil one so you could go on your trip.

On Sunday you asked for healing experiences and I didn't get to write then, but I will now.

The Lord has healed me so many many times, emotionally and physically! The one that stands out the most I think is when I had
a lump in my breast right before we were to go away for our 25th Anniversary Celebration. I went for a mammogram on the Monday before and on Tuesday they called and wanted me to come back on Thursday for a Sonogram. On a Wed.
evening our elders annointed me and prayed for healing, went back to Dr. the next day for the Sonogram and we were also praying we would know something that day so we wouldn't be worrying about anything while we were away, and could enjoy our time.

The technician came in and did the sonogram, then she brought another lady in and she did it, and they saw something and they said but that isn't where it is and then they sent the Dr. in to do an exam, and then they said they were gonna do another mammogram. I sort of had a knowing that things were okay, but after the mammogram, they brought me out to see the Dr.
and he had 3 films up on a screen.
One was from 3 yrs. before and you
could see this tiny lump ( no one had noticed or at least had never told me needed to be watched)
the other one was from Monday of that Week, and you could see a huge
lump way bigger and in the same place as the first film, and on the film from that day, there was absolutely nothing. The Dr. said looks like benign tissue to me.
And I said The Lord answers prayer
and the Dr. didn't know what to say.
God is soooooooo amazing all the time. Thanks for giving me an
opportunity to share that to a bigger audience!! Love it!!
Hope it encourages someone today.
Blessings, Nellie

I have been practicing this laying it all down. I have to admit; I have to start over each day though. I know He is trustworthy; it's just stuff and people get in the way sometimes.

I love you way with words sweet Sarah Dawn.

Love you,

Dear Sarah, Thank you for sharing these words for us. I, for one, echoed the prayers as well. You are the Lord's mouthpiece. Be blessed.

"Breaking chains of contentment" really spoke to me. One can grow content in their love relationship with God and not even realize that there is so much more. Even if we imagine we are as close as we can be...there is always more.

"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" John 7:37-38

"The fulfillment of . . . the promise could be testified by thousands of living Christians in the present day. They would say, if their evidence could be collected, that when they came to Christ by faith they found in him more than they expected. They have tasted peace and hope and comfort since they first believed, which, with all their doubts and fears, they would not exchange for anything in this world. They have found grace according to their need and strength according to their days. In themselves and their own hearts they have often been disappointed, but they have never been disappointed in Christ."

Henry Martyn (1781-1812), Anglican missionary, was the guest of a Muslim friend for dinner. His host described for him a painting he had seen of Jesus bowing down before Muhammad. Martyn tells us what happened next:

"I was cut to the soul at this blasphemy. Mirza Seid Ali perceived that I was considerably disordered and asked what it was that was so offensive? I told him 'I could not endure existence if Jesus was not glorified; it would be hell to me if He were to be always thus dishonored.' He was astonished and again asked 'Why?' 'If anyone pluck out your eyes,' I replied, 'there is no saying why you feel pain; it is feeling. It is because I am one with Christ that I am thus dreadfully wounded.'"

Quoted in Constance E. Padwick, Henry Martyn: Confessor Of The Faith, page 265.

Sarah Dawn - Thanks for stopping by my blog! I followed your link and must say I'm loving your blog! You are very poetic and reading your words, my heart truly cries out in worship! Thank you for letting us glimpse your relationship with Jesus, it's so honest & intimate.

Also, I am listening to my favorite album (are they still called albums?) on my ipod and simultaneously saw this particular post with You Won't Relent, and guess what's on my ipod RIGHT NOW? So I just had to tell you, because I don't believe in coincidence! I am, however listening to Jesus Culture's 'Your Love Never Fails' album and the song is sung by Chris Quilala & Kim Walker. My current favorite, I love the energy in live recordings.... You might like it, check them out on youtube.

So - thanks! You're reflecting His light, and I see it up here in Duluth, MN! :o) Way to shine!
