Time Out. Time In.

We all get out breath.  Shoe comes untied.  Breaks are needed.  Time outs, a part of the tag game of life.

My kids, they crave tag games.  Fast.  Furiously Fun.  Its how they live life.  Full Speed.

I sat watching, observing, absorbing, learning.  Love it when this momma slows down enough to learn, even in a tag game.

As kids scamper, inevitably one pants the words TIME OUT, making the universal sign of T with lil hands.  Time out granted.  She catches her breath.

When she's refreshed, ready to give her all, she joyously proclaims TIME IN, dashing to join game once again.

Light bulb goes off in this momma brain.  TIME IN!  TIME IN!  TIME IN!  It brings the joy, announcing to all you are joining in the game again.  And its been missing in our home.

We take time outs.  Time outs when the kids can call them, when parent calls them, when mom needs them.

We all get out of breath.  Emotions become untied.   Breaks are needed.  Time outs, a part of the tag game of life.

After the mistake admitted, apology spoken, the forgiveness asked & received, the solution agreed on ... TIME IN joyously declared.

We snuggle up, foot rub, scratch back, tickle match, extra hugs ... TIME IN!  Its plum making a huge difference in the way we all enter back into the game of daily life.

Time In ... Bring on the tag game.

Would you consider joining me today?  I would be honored.  I'm on a mom  journey.  And I could use you.  Your nuggets of wisdom.  Your failures turned glory.  A fave old post.  Pictures of memories in the making.  Your story of anything mom.

Simply slip your post into the link up.  You can grab the button if you would like as well.  I'll start the splash on Mondays.   And I know the filled to the brim momma schedules ... so join us any day of the week and link up.

We all so desperately need those "time outs," Sarah. But I love that you've reminded us to have the "time in" as well. I'm actually taking a "time out" this Thursday and really looking forward to it. I'm certain it will increase my joy as I take my "time in" soon after. Thanks so much for this link up!

Hey, Sarah,

Just an idea I wanted to toss out to you...

I’m getting ready to launch my first ever “summer series” over at The Overflow!

This idea has been rolling around in my mind for a month or so.

It all began with a casual conversation at the park this spring. I was telling one of my girl friends about a far-away friend of mine who is living in India and is just downright crazy about Jesus. I shared all the things I love about my India-friend, and then I looked at the Iowa friend next to me and said, “I wish you two could meet! You’d absolutely ADORE each other!”

That’s when it struck me---My life is filled with an unusual amount of AMAZING women!

And then, I thought- Wouldn’t it be fun to connect all of my inspiring friends?

So, beginning next month and running through August, I’m planning to host a series at The Overflow! called INSPIRE.

And plain and simply, I’d be honored if you’d choose to be a part of it.

Because, you’ve INSPIRED me.

You’ve written truth and made me want to chase harder after Jesus.
You’ve made me laugh and think hard and dream, and you’ve made me want to live a fuller and more deliberate life.

And I wish my friends who read blogs could meet my friends who write blogs.

Because I know them, and I know you.

And I know that you’d probably adore other if you had the chance to meet!

So that being said, please know that there’s NO PRESSURE. REALLY.
I know life is full and time is short. And summer is fleeting.

However, if you’re interested in contributing to this series, all I’ll need is a favorite post that represents you. You can pull it from the archives or scribble it out brand new- doesn’t matter to me. I already know you’re amazing.

If you’d be able to just email me@rbruxvoort@iowatelecom.net or jot me a facebook message to let me know you’re interested, then I can plan out the guest posts and let you know when I’d like to feature you.

On the day I run your post, I’ll link to you and you can link to me. And that way our friends can meet!
When you’re my featured guest, I’ll write a quick note of introduction that tells my readers how you’ve inspired me. (This will be my favorite part!)

Then, I’ll invite my readers to jump on over to your place to get to know you better after they’ve met you at the Overflow.

And hopefully, they’ll be as inspired by you as I’ve been, and they’ll just keep following along, gleaning encouragement and wisdom from your words each week.

Please let me know if you’re interested in taking part in INSPIRE this summer.

I'm glad we’ve met,

Alicia@The Overflow!

Thanks for stopping by The Faithful & Frugal Fashionista and leaving such a sweet comment! I've linked up a couple of posts =)

And yes, time ins are just as important as time outs. We must recognize when we've recharged & are refreshed enough to continue on in our lives!

How easy it is to concentrate on the time out and forget about the Time In. Thanks for the reminder of how important a Time In really is.

Thanks for stopping by my little piece of the blog world. I am honored to link a post :)

Much grace and peace!

I'm glad you reminded me to link up! Thank you! I totally thought your linky party was on Wednesday!

Love the post and the reminder that "time in" means we're all in and ready to go and give it all we've got.

Sometimes my time in is halfhearted at best, lol! Thanks for hosting.
